Unsilent Night @ Washington Square Park
Saturday 12th at 7pm
A left-field take on the tradition of Christmas carolling, Unsilent Night has become something of a cult event as hundreds of people gather to march from Washington Square Park to Tompkins Square Park. However, rather than singing, music blasts from boomboxes and soundsystems playing the preferred playlist of each person. The Village Voice describes it as “a marvelously fluid, traveling spatial sound sculpture that disintegrates and reforms at nearly every stop light.” more
